Chapter 20. Equation of Faith
Faith is a significant driving force in every
religion including Buddhism. According
to the Lord Buddha who usually gave priority to wisdom, faith alone was also recognized
as a driving force towards enlightenment when it is powerful enough.
Considering the factors that contribute to the
cultivation of faith, we found that both ‘rationality’ and ‘emotionality’ play
an important role regardless of whether our belief is true or untrue. As such,
we can derive a Dhammonomic equation to explain and express the correlation of cofactors
of faith where ‘Faith’ equals to ‘Belief’ which stems from more or less of ‘Rationality’
and ‘Emotionality.’
This means that our faith coexists with the belief
from understanding from our thinking and the feeling we experience and reflect.
